Answer:
Penalty Seconds are seconds or part of that will be added to your Time Seconds by the Tech committee, if you have a vehicle with a vairation from a "Stock Production Vehicle" that will give you an advantage over the other competition entrants.

Question:
What is CID and CCD?

Answer:
In internal combustion engines, a piston travels within a cylinder, compressing a mixture of air and fuel until a spark ignites it, forcing the piston back and generating the engine's power.   The two dimensions of the piston chamber, bore and stroke determine an engine's actual size.   Bore is the diameter of the chamber, and stroke is how far the piston travels within the chamber.   These figures, combined with the number of cylinders, will give us an engine displacement and a measurement of the amount of power the car will have.

Question:
I have a stock production vehicle, except for a duel exhaust system I have added.   Can I compete in the Hill Climb?

Answer:
Yes you can , but a Time-seconds penalty will be added to your points score by the Tech committee because you will have an advantage over the other competition entrants that have a stock exhaust system.

How many non-stock/modified classes are there?

Question:
I have a really cool rare vehicle. Can I make an exhibition run up the hill during the festival?

No.   Thank you for the offer, but we do not allow exhibition runs.   There is just not enough free time during the event.

Question:
Have the Hill Climb runs always been scored on the point system now being used?

Answer:
Yes.   But, This system has evolved over the years.   The point system using the "CID" of an engine now in use was started in 1981.   Before then the "HP" of the engine was used in determining the scoring points.   We have re-calculated the runs before 1981 shown here using the "CID/CCD" system.
